Because dogs are objectively the best creatures on planet Earth
Two Long Days
People noticed that two dogs had been hanging around a stretch of tracks for over two days before rescuers were called to help the animals. When they arrived, they found that Lucy had been seriously injured and was unable to leave her resting spot in the middle of the tracks.
Out in the Cold
When the rescue workers arrived, they noticed something else unusual—the male dog, Panda, seemed to be protecting Lucy. As the people approached, Panda acted wary towards them—going to sit by Lucy’s side and not allowing the group to approach. According to one of the rescuers, Mr. Malafeyev, just as Panda snuggled up to his friend, a train starting speeding down the tracks.
A Strong Bond
Malafeyev pulled out his camera and began recording video as the train passed. He says that once he saw the train, he “felt sick,” surely due to the uncertainty of what would happen next.
However, his fear was unfounded. Panda stayed at the side of his injured companion and when he heard the train, laid down right next to her—directly in the path of the speeding train. “Both of them pushed their heads towards the ground, and let the train pass,” Malafeyev told The Daily Mail. Then, they realized why both dogs were still there.
People tell me that I love dogs too much, then I show them stories like this.
